Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Haringey Carpet Cleaning is firmly committed to conducting its business ethically and with integrity. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. This statement sets out the steps we are taking to identify, prevent, and address the risk of modern slavery in connection with our services.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Haringey Carpet Cleaning provides professional carpet and upholstery cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains include providers of cleaning equipment, cleaning products, vehicles, workwear, and certain outsourced services such as waste disposal and maintenance. We acknowledge that modern slavery risks can arise at any stage of the supply chain and we are committed to working only with partners who share our values and meet our standards.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and any form of exploitation. This policy applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged in providing goods or services to Haringey Carpet Cleaning. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of employment or business relationships.
We expect all those we work with to uphold the same high standards. We actively communicate our zero-tolerance stance to our staff and key suppliers so that expectations are fully understood and implemented across our operations.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to engaging with suppliers who operate ethically and in compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. Our supplier selection and review processes include consideration of each supplier’s approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We seek confirmation that suppliers have appropriate policies and controls in place.
Where proportionate to the level of risk, we conduct supplier audits or request evidence of compliance, such as policy statements, codes of conduct, and details of due diligence processes. These audits may include on-site visits, reviews of employment practices, and discussions with management about labour standards and worker protections.
If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards against modern slavery, we will take appropriate action, which may include requiring corrective measures within a defined timeframe or terminating the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Haringey Carpet Cleaning encourages all employees, contractors, and external stakeholders to raise concerns about potential modern slavery or human rights abuses. Concerns can be reported directly to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting channels. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously.
No one who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment. We are committed to investigating all credible reports promptly, taking appropriate remedial action, and, where necessary, working with relevant authorities or external experts.
Training and Awareness
We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks within our organisation. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment, are made aware of the signs of modern slavery and the procedures for reporting concerns. We aim to enhance our training over time to reflect evolving best practice and legal requirements.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Haringey Carpet Cleaning recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continuously improving our policies, procedures, and due diligence activities. Each year, we will review this Modern Slavery Statement to assess the effectiveness of our measures, take account of changes in our business or supply chains, and identify further steps we can take to strengthen our approach.
The annual review will consider feedback from staff, the outcomes of supplier audits, any reported incidents, and developments in legislation or industry guidance. Where improvements are identified, we will update our internal processes and this statement accordingly.
Approval of this Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the leadership of Haringey Carpet Cleaning, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and ongoing review.
